Slingo Showdown – The Game

The Slingo Originals game studio, part of London-based Gaming Realms PLC, has been busy in 2017. Hot on the heels of their recent Slingo Rainbow Riches release comes another Slingo format, this time adding a Poker dimension to the already familiar mix of bingo and slots. Slingo Showdown is the name of the new game, and it’s one of their best releases yet.

Fans of Slingo will recognise the layout and format of Slingo Showdown, although here the game has had a Wild West makeover to fit with the poker theme.

How to Play Slingo Showdown

The game can be played from 10p up to £100 per play.

Whilst in the standard Slingo games put out by Gaming Realms the objective has been to match numbers released from the drum with those on your Slingo card, here the numbers are replaced with cards, five of which are dealt at a time.

The five cards make up a poker hand, and over 10 deals, your best hand is the one that defines the base prize value at the end of the game. We say base prize value because a further multiplier is applied to your win based on how many Slingos you score during the game.

For your poker hand, on a 50p stake the prizes start at 10p for Two Pairs, and increase up to £12.50 for 5 of a kind and £25 for a Royal Flush.

Meanwhile, Slingos are achieved by matching card values against those on the 5×5 grid in the center of the screen. Just like in the traditional format, Slingos can run from top to bottom, left to right, or diagonally. Multipliers start from 2x for 4 slingos, and run up to 30x for the Jackpot of 12 Slingos in the game.

After the 10th hand has been dealt, your multiplier times your poker hand prize gives you your total payout.

Jokers, Super Jokers, Devils and Free Deals

Of course, just like any other Slingo game, the Joker makes an appearance in Slingo Showdown. As always, he is the Wild in the pack and can substitute for any card value on the row above their position in your hand. There is also a Super Joker who can substitute for any card value that appears anywhere on the grid.

The Devil is the blocking card that will stop a Slingo in the column or row above which he appears.

There is also a Free Deal card that will give you an extra hand and substitute as a Wild in your Poker hand.

Extra Deals

Again, just like the extra Spins available at the end of any normal Slingo game, you can stake more money for extra Deals after your first ten hands in Slingo Showdown if you want to hunt down a bigger prize. Remember, you might land a top hand or more Slingos to increase your prize multiplier.

Our Conclusion

This is Slingo Originals’ best game release so far. The gameplay has a much more intuitive feel to it, and the added dimension of poker makes it more fun as you cross your fingers for a top hand with each deal. Plus, we all love a good multiplier, and with a 30x Jackpot for 12 Slingos, you’ll always be tempted to buy an extra deal of two at the end of the game. With just a 50p stake you can win £750 with a Royal Flush and the top multiplier.

Slingo Showdown is currently exclusively available to players.
