How To Bet on Starcraft 2
Betting on Starcraft 2 can be done at any of our recommended eSports betting sites. Here’s how you can bet on matches:
Regular Bets – you can bet on the outcome of a match between 2 teams or multiple single players. The odds you will get are much like a normal sports event between 2 teams in football for example. You can bet on one team winning or a draw. The odds can be very short, so sometimes you may want to bet on in-play events instead. If you choose to bet on outcome of a match then it is worth getting to know the teams properly before you decide who to bet on. There are lots of great resources online to choose from, including Reddit and Team Liquid.
Special Odds – Here you can bet on specific in-play events like the person to win the first map during a match. You can also bet on bigger outright markets like who will win an overall tournament of matches.
Live In-Play Betting – You can also place bets in the same way you would on a live football match. This in-play betting also covers things like the next map win. It also allows you to bet on the final outcome as the game plays out. So if you expect someone’s strategy is going to turn things around then you can place a new bet on that one.
What is Starcraft 2?
Starcraft 2 (Wings of Liberty) is a science fiction video game with a military theme, designed, developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment. Much like other multiplayer video games, like DOTA 2 and League of Legends, Starcraft requires each player or team to take out the opposition’s main base. In single player mode the characters must build a base and an army and use this to overcome the opposition base and score a win.
There are two levels of play in Starcraft, Macro and Micro. The Macro level is your economy and your base. Having a good Macro set up allows you to build your armies and your resources. Your Micro level is how you use those resources – so effectively how you fight – attacking and defending yours and your oppostions bases.
The Starcraft 2 world is filled with weird and wonderful characaters, some continued over from the first version, and others newly introduced. There are three species: Protoss – massively advanced mentally and physically – the Terran – these are a fictional future version of the human race – and the Zerg – a massively antagonistic race of aliens! One of the central characters of the game is Captain Jim Raynor, a hard-drinking mercenary who will take on special missions.
Starcraft 2 is a 2010 release and follow up to the original Starcraft release that came out in 1998. Much like the original, players can improve their own capabilities throughout a match by improving their catalogue of items and completing tasks.
Where Can I Watch Starcraft 2?
Starcraft 2 is hugely popular across the globe, taking on DOTA 2 in the top eSports stakes. In South Korea it is a national pastime and has 2 TV channels dedicated to it. In the UK of course you can watch live Starcraft 2 tournaments on the internet, and through sites like Twitch, Team Liquid and Gossamers.
